*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

'DVD Jon' has been acquitted.
And, roughly on the same theme: The RIAA Succeeds Where the Cypherpunks Failed (I've not read this one yet, but the link source meets my quality requirements).
This is for the tech news, else I'm on holidays (finally), I'll move in tomorrow (and during the next two weeks).
I've got the [photo] (opens in popup)(hopefully) of the building entrance (thanks to pagesjaunes and visiocity).

Well, I've played with this popup thingy, got a headache now.

II

Two things:

First: I've decided to shift my position on the internet, refresh some old websites, delete the very old ones, and merge my identities back in the first one.
Which is Kyrlian, my friends call me kyr.
ryk obviously comes from there.
I'm writing different type of things, novels, blog, whatever, so at first I wanted to keep the styles separated, and used different - even if similar - names.
Now I'm quite settled, I now I'll continue to blog, even if not at the same rythm, I'll continue to write, so it's time to get that together.
To be honest, it won't change nothing for you, except this post will be signed kyr. (and all the previous posts as well, as blogger will republish everything with the new nick)

Second: Tonight I was Santa Clauss. At work, I'm the only guy with no children (except for the boss, who wouldn't do Santa Clauss anyway), thus I was the one with the red costume and the backpack full of gifts, coming in the meeting room where the children where eating christmas cake, and shouting HOHOHO, Merry Christmas (which goes 'Joyeux Noel' in the original version). Well, that was a first time.

Writing

I opened my blog to tell you about my recent discovery: It's Much More Easy To Write On Paper Than On Keyboard.

But then I remembered that I wanted to find a fire screen saver, so I asked google, and browsed trough the first results. I was quite surprised to see that some companies actually try to sell screen savers, for 10 dollars or so (no link here, I believe in free content, not in the "let's ask for money and see if people buy it" attitude). Then I tried a demo (demo meaning "view a version with our name blinking in the corner, and pay later", not demo as "Let's do something impressive wich will be 10kos and run on my grandmother's amiga at 60fps", but that's not really the point), a burning fire. Well that's what I was looking for, but I guess the code is somewhere on sourceforge(?), and I would need about 4 hours to javac out a windowed fire - add free. I'll let you know. (And if you know someone has already done that, tell me)

Now, this was just a remark, and before I go and browse sourceforge to see if a fire hell project already exists, I'll finish with the first point: "It's Much More Easy To Write On Paper Than On Keyboard."
Let me explain. I write stuff like small novels, poems, which are published somewhere on the internet - in French - and not signed ryk, but if you search, you'll find. Whatever, the thing is I usually write on paper, mainly when not at home, and then type back on my notepad.
Some time ago I wanted to write a novel, I hadn't any paper ready, so I tried to start and thing about the story line, find the main character, the plot, the landscape, to draw a global picture. I couldn't. I tried with this method for two weeks, but as soon as I tried to think about the novel, my mind wandered to whatever other subject of immediate concern, and so long for the storyboard. So after a while, I took my notepad (the paper kind), a pen, and waited for five seconds, trying to remember what name I had choosen. Ten minutes later I had my first chapter. (I do small chapters).
I still don't know what the end will be, but I guess my pen will decide along the lines.

And that's all for tonight, I got to find my fire now.
Cya world.

Short

Short day.
Gone home with the first metro, slept from 7 to 3pm, wandered around till night (which started 2 hours later).

I've seen Love actually, Love, actually, is all around. Well, it's good, in the fashion of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones's Diary, Two Weeks Notice (well, this last one was less fun).

Wired reports that Microsoft will issue a patch to remove two swastika symbols from the 'Bookshelf Symbol 7' font. Well. Shall we also remove all the letters used to spell genocide ?.
(Reminders: what is the swastika. [1], [2] )

Thursday, December 11, 2003

I feel like blogging tonight.
But I don't have any particular subject in mind, so it'll be a bit confused until I grasp a line.
Well, I have my first christmas gift ready. The thing is It's mine. I really must go shopping this weekend. I always go the 'but last' weekend for my christmas shopping, never could get myself to do it earlier.
So, my gift to myselft is a toaster. The English kind, wallace & gromit kind, the kind you don't find in France. Thanks to TBoB, who lives oversea, I'll have one when taking my first breakfeast in my new home.

I didn't give any news about my finally successfull search for an apartment, I found a nice studio near Alesia metro station, south of Paris, I shall move in during christmas holidays, which will start december 20th. You'll be welcome home.

This being done, I got to find new objectives for next year. Or maybe I'll just let me live for a while, just to try the taste of time passing by.

Well, I've been monitoring the news these last days, but nothing extraordinary is happening in december, malls are packed with givers and gifts, ads are dressed in red and white and singing 'HoHoHo', the cold is as cold as usual, the global warming seems to have stopped during winter.

What an abrupt end.

Rain and Snow

12 minutes to finish Quake1 (torrent). Impressive.
Yeah, you'll need bittorent to dl that.
Watched the news tonight. My god, this little French screen, national news, flood, rain, cold. For a second I felt trapped in the past, a glimpse in a small world.
later
TV again, a masterpiece. Not so bad after all.

Thursday, November 20, 2003

Yeah

I shall have an apartment tonight.
Maybe I'll add that to this page.
See y'a world.

A work day later
Papers signed.
I'll have the keys mid-december.

Well, that's done.

Today - Tonight

Lazy day today. Raining, cloudy. Gone through le jardin du luxembourg around noon, I was alone, rain playing in the trees, cold wind. Silence.
Tonight I'll go to see the FatalsPicards. Maybe I'll try to take a nap before.
Oh, and we lost the rugby match.
Two hours later
Well, that was a good concert. Small scene, we arrived at the middle of the concert, for the band we came for, we just saw the end of the previous performance and a small newscast on some anti-war march. (A far-left politician was saying "Let's not start what will be a bloody war, let's show this is not what the people want". Three month later, the war is over, it's still a bloody mess.)
Then the FatalsPicards, good songs, good scene play, feels like being home, or at a friend's party, with a local band playing for a birthday. Cosy.
Now I'll go and have some sleep, tomorrow is another work day.

Done.

Okay, this new 'shell for a website' is up and running. Good. I'm gonna watch a movie now.
[wanted aka Crime Spree]
Funny to switch from English to French and back (most of the film beeing in English). The movie itself is OK, reminded me of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, but more fuzzy, less fun, guess they are better musicians than actors. As I write that, I tell myself "If it wasn't you saying it, you'd say it's a jerkish remark". I guess the voice in my head is right. The 1vs1 between Renaud and Hallyday was good. Guess who won.

Just changed my comment system from KlinkFamily's blogout to Haloscan's. The second one is simpler, quicker. It's also more widely used, that could become a problem sometimes, but we'll deal with it then.

Lazy Net

Hey world.
End of week, those three days were exhausting.
Some quick news first:

  • I've uploaded KTTS on another location.
  • FreeRadioLinux is still down.
  • KTTS.L : The quickest way to make you PC talk.
  • Waouh, I hadn't used those list tag for a while!
  • I'm wondering if I should change the font to 10 or 12pt, I think it's 8 right now. Is it too small ? A quick benchmark of common websites shows mine is written quite small. Wadayathink?
  • I added this blog to blogshare. Just for the sake of it, I saw the link on the blogging ecosystem page (see below).

Wandered to Recommended Reading, which will recommend you with new website since you give a start point. Based on the blogging ecosystem, a sort of map of the blogs. (sort of because I supose there is a little more about an ecosystem than just nodes and links.)
I just removed the links to blogmatrix as I'm not convinced of the use of keeping them.
I'm setting up an auxiliary website to upload content and link to it. May not be usefull at all.
Well, I went to AngelFire, but this is WebSite for dummies (no offense), so I went back to my old multimania. Both are owned by Lycos, but the services are quite different. Well, so many different people.

Well, so long world, I'm going to bed.

Not yet, just saw this image: there, I like it.

KTTS

Hey World.
I've just finished the first draft of KTTS (for K - TTS engine): a word document with TTS functions, a quick play with windows TTS functions. Get it there and comment.

Winamp5 - Winter - Whatever

Hey world.
Several things catched my attention today, but now I can't remember any. Except Winamp5Alpha is out (not found on winamp.com though), funny to go from winamp 2 and 3 to 5, a way of saying 'ok, 2 was good, 3 was, but in a different way, so let's not do a 4 and have three different versions, but a five (quantum jump) and start on a stable basis again.
I've finaly watched 24s2, great. My favorite quote will be "Shoot him again now, Kim"(wav) (I bet it's your's already). The end is weird (in a WhatTheHell way).
Well, I'll get back to you later, things to do.
See y'a world.

Halloween

Hey world. My posts are more and more sparse. Here I stand, saturday morning, browsing the internet, listening to my favorite internet radio, googling and surfing my news grid. I've been away for a while. What's up around?
Yesterday was Halloween. Long life to the deads. Reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean. I've heard that in France, as a response to the number of death caused by heat this summer, two third of the Frenchies will go and visit grandfather grave this weekend. Crowded. (failed to find a reliable source for this info).

...
Do not shoot the lawyer.
...

Oh, by the way, I've starting reading Kundera - Different people tried to talk me in, I never bothered trying, two days ago I was at a friend, he was ironing, I took a book to read, he gave me another one, Kundera. Well, I'm not going to do critics, I like it. The Movie.
...
Kiss
...

I'm thinking about going skating this afternoon, but the wheater is unstable. Well, meteorologists says it is raining and it will rain all afternoon. It is sunny, can I conclude it will be sunny all day?
Let's try.
See you world.

PS: I almost forgot: Max Payne 2 seems to be a sequel, no more, no less, but I can't play more than 10 minutes without freezing. A Payne. Haha.
(I'm winME, ATI radeon8500LE, I'll go and find why it is so and let you now.)

Better

Well, yesterday was as bad as monday, but today was good. Once again, when you are tired nothing goes well. I'm ready for next weekend now.
So here are the news (get ready, it might be long)
I'll start with last weekend, for I'm too lazy to recall what happened before, and only a few people would bother anyway.
So, last weekend I went to a friend's, in Nancy. The main object of the trip, apart from the trip itself (always good to leave from hometown from time to time), was a jazz concert, part of the Nancy Jazz Pulsations program, a five hours show, featuring (I got to google that to get the right spellin) Késiah Jones. That was good. The night was long, we went to a 24h boulangerie twice in the night, a gay bar (why the hell ?), and walked all around the city just 'cause this as***le wouldn't remeber where we were heading for more than 30 seconds.
Sunday was lazy, good meal, good wine, back to Paris.
Monday and thursday were no good, too much work, tired from the weekend, hell.
As I said up, today was better, sunny, I had slept, all the stuff I had to do sundely seemed easier (not easy yet, but not as impossible as before), so I'm in a better mood today.

That was for the backlog, now let me just spend a few lines on a news I saw in wired (yeah, reading the news on a palm during the morning bus transfer is a good way to start the day), Lego is hunting a new 'Lego Master Builder'. Each and every boy know what a lego is, a lot of them (us) have spend some years playing with those bricks, building whatever we pleased, beeing god (yellow plastic flavor). Now Lego is opening one of the most wanted job on earth: Lego God. Well, my lego passion is gone now, but it seems a lot of people are ready for the fight, one of them will play forever after.
From my point of view, Lego has become more and more commercial, lauching series of whatever trendy, not really related to constructing worlds anymore, more like assembling simple toys to play with instead of directly buying them. I guess I'm not a child anymore.
[looking at lego website]
Well, after surfing a bit, I apology, the commercial stuff is what we see in malls, but you still have REAL constructing material on the website.

GottaGo, C y'a world.

.

Hey. Just some quick words to let you know I'm still alive. And tired. Don't know if it is because of the week end, or because of this awful Monday, or both... But I'm gonna go to bed early tonight. Sleep. Need it. See y'a world.

HTML - Fractal complexity

Hello World.
I've been coding /fighting/ the template of the small blog I use for the links (left bottom corner of your screen - hopefully) for several hours.
I didn't want to have the standard scroll bar, but some arrows, couldn't make them out of the frame as you can't perform javascript 'scrollBy' on a page placed on a different host (whateverwimm is the main page, wwimm-links is the links page). I still did want some fix arrows, not the up/down links I had before on the date line. So here we go for some javascript quick learning. I'm a fast learner (for coding and whatever mathematical stuff (yeah right)), so I quickly wrote a small code on a test page to do the nice scrolling of the page, the arrows staying at the top. Cut 'n Paste, didn't work. After hours, I figured that the DOCTYPE at the very begining of the template was screwing everything, as (I suppose) my code was not coherent with the doctype. Kill that. Now it works.
That is something like a Basic Rule in computer programming: when you have no idea why it doesn't work, you can be sure it's not coming from what you just wrote but from another detail, unnoticed before and quickly forgotten, hidden in some (remote) part of your (huge) code.
That leads to the title: Fractal complexity: basic HTML is simple and quick, anybody can write a HelloWorld page, then you feel confident and embrace the whole complexity of the Internet. And you don't sleep anymore. Beware.
- Thanks to the likes of phpnuke and blogger, you don't (really) need hardcoding anymore (except when it comes to details, forget about details) -.
BTW, here are my sources for html, javascript and co: CommentCaMarche (fr) & DevGuru. Of course you already knew php.net.
Sorry for such a long techy post - Cya World!

This and That

Hey World.
I'll be right back.

---

Here I am.
I originaly opened my browser to post about my new palm toy, but a lot of stuff came to my mind when I was waiting for this damn 'light' browser to load. Just kidding, it is light. mostly.
Okay, so I have a palm, which was my dad's some time ago, and was lying in a little box inches from my computer, alone and forgotten. Got it out, installed a news retriever, and let's rock. Now I'll read the washington post in the paris bus.
I'll be right back (again).
---

Ok, here I am again.
So, I am now searching for websites offering news in a convenient format for handheld device, means no fancy tables, images, and whatever not text.
Plucker provides a basic list, including /., wired and such, plus some news as CNN. I'm quite sure reuters would have such a handheld formated section, the thing is WHERE THE F*CK IS IT !?
Well, searching that I found several collections of classics in plucker format. Some reading. Cool.
I'll take some for the ride.
Done.

I'm almost done, just to finish: I've seen The Core this afternoon. Well. That film is no good. They tried to remake armageddon, twisting the scenario a bit so nobody would guess. A forgotten scientist creates a new device to melt rocks, together with the super-steel to build the incredible machine, right when needed by the American Army.
One funny thing: the rat (yeah, the super hacker - the actor is the little guy in road trip) plays a tune using a chewing gum package (well, here my english is failing) to unlock a phone (Now you've got interurban calls gratis, for life.) This is just like the Tgirl talking with a modem in T3.
I was going to see an armageddon like, I saw a... bad remake of... can't find something quite as plotless.

Update:
Watching Alice in wonderland.
Singingdaffodils. I like this word, daffodil. It goes with lulllaby, lolita and loreleil. I like Ls.
Ohoh, Alice ate the mushroom. Too much of it. hehe.
See ya World.

Update:
About this study I mentionned earlier(Can you raed tihs?), showing that you can read scrambled words, as long as first and last letters are well placed... Found a trace on slashdot, and then to the source... which is not any university. (BTW, sometimes it is about cambridge uni and sometimes just an english uni. Anyway, here is the trace:
Slashdot->bisso.com->languagehat->avva's blog(Start).
Note all are somehow blogs. And the university didn't publish (on the net) or nobody didn't care to link.
However, read that for a more complete story.
And that paper.

Saturday, September 27, 2003

Hello world.
It's been a while - my home computer was down for a week, and a lot of work at work, no time for blogging there - here are the news:
- still havent find my apartment, still searching
- summer is still here, despite what meteorologists try to make us believe
- ITs have finaly managed to produce low price PCs with easy to install stuff, everything is up an running minutes /hours/ after you came home with a bunch of boxes. (given I already had the internet wired)
I've found a BlogStockMarket, will have a look at that later (see link on right side), my firebird seems a bit unstable, I've been kicked twice when browsing this afternoon.
Well, that is a nice chat, but I need to go out and feel the sun when it is still here.
Ciao world.

My home ? Mine !
Soon ? I'll know that tomorrow or next week, let's hope.

Nothing

Hello world.
Nothing new today, lot of work, visited an apartment this evening, cool, might be too expensive, I'll know the exact price tomorrow. We'll see.
Tomorow will start early, so let's go to bed.
Cya world.

***

Well, I'm not sleepy right now. I'm listening some random music on shoutcast radio. I wonder if they have licenses to broadcast. f*cking RlAA.
It's quite funny to see the internet, which has grown wildly unoticed from any commercial vamp during the last ten (twenty) years, now poluted by people wanting to own that or that. I'm not really concerned by the linux/sco debate nor this RIAA affairs as I'm in europe (I do hope the frontwave will be stoped inside the mighty US of A and we won't have to bother), but I'm contemplating all that movement, debates, subpoenas and noise, wondering if I should trow my computer away and get back to ink and paper.
Thanks to the community, which IS the backbone of the internet, I won't.
[change of music - I feel like fighting now - never underestimate...]
Yes, the community of people who USE the internet, who browse, post, email, lurk, blog, rant, troll, swap, read, write, design, search, develop, test, USE the biggest bloody entity ever created by man, this community runs the internet, is the blood, the red cells, the energy running trough the cold and icy glass wiring the continents under the oceans.
- Please feel free to copy and distribute this rant -

Good night world.

Luck

I'm lucky today.
I take two buses to go to work, and to more to come back, I had three of them as soon as I walked by the bus stop,
back home the lift was at ground floor, and I had emails from distant friends in the box.
If I was in gambling I would. I'm not.
An article about a cambridge university study showing that you can write all wrong and still be read spread today, I'm searching for a reliable source...
And I have no comment about my digital camera problem... I think I'll pick the olympus, as frenchy has slightly the same one and I know it is nice.
By the way, I browsed through the columns of the washington post today, find it quite interesting, good overviews.
By another way, you may have (or not) noticed that I don't use my googler anymore. Well, that's not because I'm grown up and have started to use hyperlinks with more care, it's just because my computer is much more stable since the weather is cooler and I don't have to save when writing, so I write directly in blogger. I might write a pluggin for mozilla to instantly create the link to the google search... Yeah, sounds great!... does it? Well, if you have mozilla, you can select a word, right clic, and clic 'web search for "selected" ', so it would be for ie-users. Still lot of people.
Oh, I'm still looking for an apartement in paris - to be honest I wasn't very efficient this summer - if you have anything, do not hesitate, post a comment or mail me. My mail is somewhere on this page, left side.
Well, that was a nice chat, I feel like I could continue for some days, but I've got to go - See ya.
( BTW: I didnt find the cambridge uni study )

Photos

Hello,
I've been playing with the design and code of the blog, the content was left out for some days.
Well, I was in provins this weekend, nice and sunny, a nice way to finish my holidays. Tomorrow I'll be back to work.
Anyway, I'm planing to buy a digital camera, as I'm in France my choice is different from the one you can have overseas I guess, my short list contains
Olympus Camedia C-220 Zoom and Fujifilm Finepix A204, from all those, given that I don't want to spend more than 200€. The olympus is smaller, the fujifilm has an optic zoom, the price difference is not much. I'm hesitating. If anyone has any of those, or something else, tell me what you think.

Stuff

Well, I'm enhacing this blog with cool stuff, let me know if anything is too much.
My new gadget is the imagepoper: [yingyang].
We shall use that instead of including the images in plaintext. What do you think?
Update: Now I've got a spot to write down links without any comment, just as I browse.

Clubbing

Clubbing. At the batofar. Was the birthday of a friend, that's easy to remember, 11/09. Had a beer and a piece of cake in a bar near hotel de ville, then to the batofar, a club on a péniche (barge), goooood music. All night.
We left around 5am, went all the way back to St Michel (that was a walk).
Had a hot chocolate in a 24h café, le café du départ, and off to sleep.
I find it fun to take the first metro, when people go to work, still half sleeping, and you go to sleep, half sleeping to, just perfect oposite.
Now it's hard to wake up.
Let's have a look at the internet, see what's up since last week.

Wednesday, September 10, 2003

Now we have titles

And we will have photos soon. The futur is coming!

Update: I've added the 'comment' feature.
Update: Oups, I forgot - Have a look at Oc and Despair. I stumbled on the first one earlier this week, cool design and nice strips. A strip - no, it was a desktop image - remind me of the second one.
Update: I'm giving a try to the chatterbox - but as it's my dad's birthday I'll finish later.

Exhaustion. Good one. Roller on the shore of Britain (France - not Great-Britain). Blue sky, sun, wind coming from the sea. Freedom.

Thursday, September 04, 2003

Hey world, just a quick word before I leave for my one week holidays, don't know if I'll be wired there. Life is cool those days, autumn is fighting with summer, it will eventually win but the weather is still warm and sunny, good, today I was happy, don't know why, my colleagues think I'm in love - if so I'd better find out quick. Wrote some nice poems today, didn't post them, lazy, will do that next week when coming back. Well, got to pack stuff and get ready, have a nice week world.

Monday, September 01, 2003

Thanks Pal.

Let the beat control your body

Note : The link was not so easy to find. The first and second google gave me were sites with about six or seven popup appearing while loading. Like a porn site. Hum.
Only one for the one i chose.

Happy birthday my friend.

Hey.
Today is the day. Summer is gone, welcome winter. Today is the day. Raining day.
I've been listening to Ennio Morricone OSTs today. I feel like an old outlaw, his horse died of thirst in the middle of the desert, nothing but the shadows of death, vultures turning around the sun, slowly coming. The wind is my only fellow, talking, whispering all day, telling me to stop, to halt for a second, to lay on the white sand, to wait for the angels to come upon me. // Next track // The good old day, crossing the desert, running with the wind, I can see the sun shining, the wild west is my home, riding from town to town, I'm free. // Next track // Cold night. A guitar is playing somewhere in the dark. The silence is singing to the stars, I'm alone in my world. Nothing but the fire and the dark night closing around me, protecting, mine. // Next track // The town is empty, no one but me. And him. Face to face. No way out but a bullet. In his head or in mine. The world has stopped for a second, nothing but to men, face to face, earth slowly coming to a halt, vultures looking at the dead, waiting. // Next track // Tombstone. Dust. Wind. Desert. Silence. Memories. // End of album //

Switch

Techno. Flashes, movement, stroboscopic mind. My heart accelerates, my fingers are moving, my brain can't control, just beat. Just follow the beat. Nothing but the beat. Thoughts can't go anywhere, can't think, can't write, just listen, can't. Hypnotised.
Switch

Never underestimate the power of music.

Hey world.
It's been a while. Well, life goes one and I had work and all, catching the last sunny days before the long dark nighty summer.
Ho, thanks to Frenchy for he wished me my birthday, just about three weeks late, so it was a surprise.
Well, I don't have much to say today, I don't really know what I've done of my time as I don't have anything to expose to you. I guess it's the general mood, going back to work, school, more and more people everywhere, you feel in a hurry but you don't really know why, don't have time to think about it, got things to do. Let's hurry!
I got some texts to write down - it's good to write on paper, but then you've got to type it back in the comp. - See you world.
By the way, update your anti-virus and backup your data, sobig.g is coming.
Last but not least, Europeans and free people around the world, do not let Software patenting become a nasty reality.

Friday, August 22, 2003

Hey world.
There is a bunch of new virus around these days, do not click blindly.

- That was a message of the SaveOftenTeam. -

Seriously, patch your windows, get linux, get some firewall and/or antivirus, watch your mails. Ho, get rid of outlook, there is a lot of alternatives.
Ok, let's me show you. The softs I use are mostly free for non commercial use, refer to the corresponding license
As a firewall I use kerio, simple and effective, you can have a look at ZoneAlarm if you prefer. I don't.
As a Antivirus, got Antivir, seems ok, but I've had it for only few days.
Next mailer and browser, well, get mozilla. Mozilla firebird is for browsing, mozilla thunderbird for mailing if I remember well.
You might want something for your instant messages, Trillian is ok. (not totally free though, the pro version is sold).
With that you'll be wired AND secure. Well, do not execute programs you receive in emails, they are crap. Your friends never send you .exe, .pif or .scr, do they ?
Viruses are a disease, takes down the net. Some should do their work better, some should do something else of their free time.
Get responsible, do not click blindly.

So summer is starting to fall. Ohoh .
And what did i learn in summer? I learnt that medias can convince us that a man can be responsible of weather and that this bad guy is actually the prime minister Jean Pierre Raffarin. I definitly learnt that heat is funcking annoying especially when you are in the subway or even outside. With the murder of Marie Trintignant and the little boy Nicolas, i learnt that i could have no mercy for killers. I learnt that some people can be really cruel without taking notice of it. I learnt i truly don't understand life. I learnt that it could be a good thing. I learnt that my mom is the best mom ever. I learnt that i could be deeply depressed and very happy (in this order) in the same day.
I'm sure i have learnt many other things.

In fall, i think i won't have time to be bored with my removal. I also have a huge project. Hope i will finish in time.
Hope. That's a good word.

People.
The world is full of people. I think I didn't notice before. I mean, I've got friends, relatives, colleagues, I know, let's say, a hundred people, two hundred?
And I've got a computer, linked to the internet, swarming with people. Since I've started this blog, along with Frenchy, I'm much more sensitive to this personal aspect of the internet.
The other day I was playing with winamp2 and the shoutcast TVs, I came across two webcams, one was a guy, chating on IRC, webcam online, just idle chat, but you can see one of the guys. Funny. Not useful at all, but fun. For a little while. The other one was a girl, who is running a blog, a small website, and has this cam online, sometimes. Well, I think running a blog is really personal, meaning that it is mainly for the author, except if you are a celebrity in real life nobody (but your friends) will regularly come to your blog. So what of a webcam? Well, maybe a bunch of random wandering guys (and girls, for the internet doesn't care of your sex) will come across, but that's just... noise.
This was an example - lengthy - of some personal interest that will remain (my point of view) personal.
On the other hand I came across (to be honest I followed a link from webcam-girl-website) a photoblog. Well a photo website, then from link to link I arrived to photoblogs.org, where I learned what is a photoblog. And ther I found a lot of websites, a lot of pictures and... portraits. auto-portraits. How come people always want to see themselves on the net!? Ok, I am this type of person, but... hell.
So, today I learned there is a bunch of people out there, mostly on other continents, I knew that already, 've been at school, years ago. I learned that everybody wants to say something to the mic', and that internet is the place to do that. 'cause you can talk, even if nobody cares to listen! (And the only thing you gotta do is remove your xiti counter not to be aware of that). I'm too young to be blind, I'll keep this counter.
PS : Thanks to LAMP, php nukes, blogger and all the techs which gave free speech to the (wired) world.
Have a nice day world.
PS(two, sorry). Mozilla is now my browser. (FYI?)

Hey, I didn't finish that post! Was in a hurry to somewhere else I guess. The endline was: I like SciFi. It's the only real way to glimpse at the future.

Wednesday, August 13, 2003

Yeah, call back. Do not miss your chance (music included, cool).
Funny how you put links to lyrics.
My sound card is crap.
I've just seen the promo for GitS - Inoncence(mpg). Good. What else can I say. I've red almost all SciFi authors, specialy the most technos, this is not the best definition. Read. Neal Asher, John Brunner, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson...
Ok, that was a quick shot, I got to go and polish my code for... surprise.
Cya world.
- by the way, I added some links on the left menu. -

With the beatles

This has been a time a great trouble.
Actually not really. What did those last days bring me? Not many things but enough happiness.
I had this thought : sometimes unhappy people are thinking about the time they were happy but didn't feel it. So did I.
And i didn't really find a period of time where i should have been happy. Does this mean that i never had been happy? Maybe.
But i had better think that i'am currently happy !

Well Okay, i spent last weekend at home and met my friends there. I know some of them since little childhood.
But i was introduce to some other girls&boys. i might said I did have some great times and spent a lot of money.
Listened to Guitar. Tasted again Smirnof ice saturday night. Quite refreshing. But it didn't help me to stay at the party because some people had to leave. Had better sleeping?

Also Strange feelings in my head. Stranges conversations. Strange acts.
And today i'm working, waiting for a phone call that now may never come. Should i call again?

Did you know that? Of course you didn’t, you don’t know what I’m talking about even now I’ve almost given you the secret I just found.
Okay, it’s not big secret, please don’t say I’m a lamer, it would be nasty of you.
Winamp2 is better than winamp3.
Hooked? good, that was the goal. Well, winamp3 is shiny, you can have funny skins looking like red or yellow xboxs, nice buttons and all. The thing is it needs almost five seconds to load on my average one year old computer AND it doesn’t do anything more than any dosamp you can run on your toaster. Here you are for nasty words against the cream of new technologies. You’re welcome. As I said some time ago, I am, along with half of the kids/guys/young executives of my age, born with the tidal wave of new techs. Which are not new techs since internet is called Internet, has grown up and gone wild. - Wait, this is a French song they have on... well, I don’t know which radio I’m listening to. That is one of the side effects of the internet. - So, I was saying that winamp3 is just a shining armor around empty smoke, whereas winamp2 hasn’t evolved GRAPHICALLY for several (five?) years, but the community (the geeks working for free everywhere around you, including me(you?), sometimes) has embraced this free - and working - technology to play with it and has launched a bunch of projects, tools, plugins, ideas, flying saucepans, which were usefull or not, were selected buy time like the species were (yeah, obviously darwin WAS right), and now I can watch TV on my computer, with average quality sound, while I’m taping this post.
That’s luxury. Technology is about luxury, isn’t it? That might be the subject of my next post. For now, I’m off grid. Good night world.
Sash-adelante. That’s cool. Great. I love the Internet.
Hey, as I’m debuging my googler-v2 (a thought for the guy who, once, tried to explained me how version where to be assigned), I’m listening random radios, that makes me think of gta3-vicecity, where you spent half your time listening to talk shows.
Hey! This msblast virus is in uk news! Haha. Can’t people avoid clicking exes ?!
I love talk shows. People talking of stuff you listen with one ear as you don’t care at all, it’s happening in England. Oouh, I’m being a nasty frenchy. Ok, ok, going to bed.
See you world.

Hello.
Back on the tracks.
I feel like a little boy who broke his nice little red car he had for Christmas, and fixed it. Well, I've been to the Chinese quarter, were you can find cheap computer pieces here in Paris, back home, drop the burnt stuff, replace, run, stop, change some wiring, start again, ok, let's check my mails.
I'll be kind with my little red car now.
How, by the way, a friend of mine showed up for my birthday. I knew she would, but felt happy she did. Good, maybe I'll let her know I'm writing my mind around here.
On the way back from the silicon dealers (hehe, what a name), a guy entered the metro with a green whatever, something like [just a sec, it just struck me I was writing directly in my browser, without saving, last time I did that, Murphy had me.] Ok, safe in my favourite txt editor. Which is not word for word suxx. That IS basic anti-ms-xpression.
Hehe, saving my text I saved it as .c, now all the fors are blue and my friend is red. Striking hu!? Hum. Where was I?
Oh yeah, the palm-tree-guy, so he apologised to people around for getting in with his own personal forest, someone said something like "hey, it's cool having trees in the metro, let's talk to RATP!". The sun was coming through the tree (I'm lacking vocabulary here), closed my eyes, felt almost on the Spanish shore, feeling the hot sand in my shoes. The he left the metro, taking my dream away to his balcony. I took my stuff home and wired and so, and get grided again (Is that a real word? Gridlinked is not either, is it? Let's say linked then). And now I'm gonna browse the net and have some dinner.
So long world.
(thanks to you (know who you are) for reading and correcting my english. And my French!)

Here I am, a bit bored for I got nothing to do. What an intro. Oups, don't have my googler here. Shit. Whatever.
I first want to thanks everybody for making me feel younger for my birthday. Not that I'm old.
For the second time in a short while, I've been told that my writing is worth reading, feels good, I think I already gave the link. Thanks again to the GoodWolf for he cares enough to be my internet beacon. My home computer has been down for some days, I'm not ubiquitous anymore. That remembers me of an article where the author was analyzing that a wireless google access would make one nearer to God, seeing everything, knowing everything. Well, my experience is that you indeed reach a higher degree of awareness when wired, but you are blind when disconnected. You can only see what's near you, what you can hear on the national radio and TV channels, some standard world news if you are lucky enough to have cable-TV. You're an earthling again. Not that it's bad, mind me, even if my living is based on silicon-engraved technologies I still spend most of my time off the matrix. But I'm bound to my daily dive through the net. Maybe I should use this opportunity to write something. The thing is I usually write directly on my computer. To quote Idontrememberwhobutithastobesomeonefamous: Life is simple, people are complicated.
Have a nice day world.

Hey, this IS fun! Several adjustments, to make the result lighter...

Sub googlealldoc()
While ActiveDocument.Words.Count > 1
searchtext = ActiveDocument.Words(1).Text
ActiveDocument.Words(1).Delete
searchstring = ""
mylen = Len(searchtext)
If mylen > 2 Then
For i = 1 To mylen
myletter = Mid(searchtext, i, 1)
ascval = Asc(myletter)
If ((ascval > 64) And (ascval < 91)) Or _
((ascval > 96) And (ascval < 124)) Then
searchstring = searchstring & myletter
Else
searchstring = searchstring & "%" & Hex(ascval)
End If
Next i
outstring = outstring _
& "<a href=""http://google.com/search?q=" _
& searchstring & "&btnI=1"">" _
& searchtext & "</a>" _
Else
outstring = outstring & searchtext
End If
Wend
Selection.TypeText Text:=outstring
End Sub

Ok, this is it, I'll think about a google editor to make the intelligent-linking easy, but right now I gonna wach a movie.

Well, this is it. My idea was: If I search each word in google and then post the first link, it's dumb and easy, why not have some script doing it for me? Let's go. So I did it using word macros, quick and crap. It works. The thing is it's the 'Feeling lucky' links which is opened, no more human selection. That is bad. Maybe I'll code an editor in which you have a side-window doing google search on any selected word, and then you pick one and the link is built. Yeah, I'll think about that. Anyway, here is the code I've used here.

Sub googlethat()
While ActiveDocument.Words.Count > 1
searchtext = ActiveDocument.Words(1).Text
ActiveDocument.Words(1).Delete
searchstring = ""
For i = 1 To Len(searchtext)
myletter = Mid(searchtext, i, 1)
ascval = Asc(myletter)
If ((ascval > 64) And (ascval < 91)) Or _
((ascval > 96) And (ascval < 124)) Then
searchstring = searchstring & myletter
Else
searchstring = searchstring & "%" & Hex(ascval)
End If
Next i
outstring = outstring _
& "<a href=""http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22" _
& searchstring & "%22&btnI=I'm+Feeling+Lucky"">" _
& searchtext & "</a>"
Wend
Selection.TypeText Text:=outstring
End Sub

It's been some time since my last post. Well, it's summer time, everything goes slower, days are longer but we don't do much more, time is passing by with the sound of hot air slowly moving around. I was half asleep when I woke up to write this. Don't really know why. Sometimes you just want to write, you can feel the urge to say something, tell something to someone, but you don't know what or whom or why. So you write a poem to someone you don't know and call her your muse or you open your blog and write what you think, even if nobody cares. I do. Nobody cares. Did I write that earlier ? I think so. I'll check, maybe is just a loophole in my brain, this feeling called déjà vu, a glitch in the matrix.
- Hell -
Some times ago I started linking more and more stuff I say, just like frenchy did, at the beginning I linked only content I talked about, now I google all the keywords and pick a link, for it is fun, relevant, irrelevant, awkward, whatever. Got an idea. I'll do that tomorrow, now I gotta get some sleep. I'll let you know what this was, later.
Oh, before I leave, remember this thing about smart mobs ? Well, it's coming to Paris. I might go, and post here what it's like. I'm not very positive about that, coming and going just for fun... Why not settle and have a drink ?
Good night world.

Marie Trintignant has died today and it is a very sad news to me. She was 41. She didn't survive the "fight" she had with Bertrand Cantat, the well known singer from band Noir Desir.
She has played in three movies that i truly love : cible emouvante, les apprentis and des nouvelles du bon dieu.
It is so easy to be violent.

Hi.
i'm at the office but i definitly can't work. horrifying.
See you.

Friday, July 25, 2003

Good evening world.
I'm listening to the music, end of Equilibrium, which I just saw. Well, the music is good, the movie was good two. It reminded me a lot of Matrix, that doesn't surprise me: the first time I saw the ads, I though it was matrix3 already. The scenario is good, a bit like gattaca's, a bit more polish would have been good, the historical reference to the third reich is so obvious it's ridiculous. The images are nice, clean, a hyper-dynamic cam-play such as matrix's would have been perfect. These are my two critics, the scenario is very good, lot of little surprises now and then, punchy fights. At the end of the line, it's very good, go and see it.
I think this will be all for today, as tomorrow will be rainy I might come again.
Clap your hands, and I will come again...

Hello there. Have you ever played Armagetron ? It's a light-cycle race, as in the Walt-Disney movie. Disney is to release a game after the movie, Tron 2.0, I've played the demo and, well, would have been a good try back in 82, to catch the wave of the movie. Whatever, go and download Armagetron, it's a good game, a bit addictive, if you're anything near a gamer, give it a try.

Hello folks, nothing to say today, I'm trying to write a poem in english, struggling, had champaign for the husband of a friend graduated in law, and I'm going to have a good night sleep for tomorrow will be a ten-hours-work-day. Quick and efficient, as rabbits say.

Friday, not felt terrible on the train.
Weekend with my father. Gave him a present that i made for Father's Day.
Sunday, big barbecue where an entire lamb was cook. Played with my sister and her friend in the swimming pool. Made enough sport for the rest of the year.
Good weekend.
Went back at Paris. Felt Lonely. Heard Firework but didn't see it. Didn't sleep from five in the morning. Don't know why.

First of all, the answer was: Nothing. Nothing is greater than god, dead eat nothing, if you eat nothing, you die. Let's carry on.
Today is July 14th, the fall of the French famous castle-jail la Bastille. It means no work, tanks and green boys all over the place, our dear president roaming around and shaking hands, and fireworks. Right now, minutes past midnight, the fireworks are fading, the full moon is smiling, alone again in the dark night.
This has been a wonderful weekend, having three days was a good start, then friends of a friend where coming from Russia, good, except I don't speak Russian, so everybody had to practice english, I joined for the bars and nightclubs mainly, slept during daily visits. Except for today, but we did walk around our beautiful town, see Paris from the sidewalk.
Well, the week end is over now, but kissing a girl on a 14th of July when the Eiffel tower is glittering and the fireworks are popping around is a good souvenir to go to sleep with. Have a good night world. I'll see ya around.

Refreshing memory.
Last Friday night, i took the metro and went to Odeon. Ryk was here waiting for me and an other friend.
We ate in a chinese restaurant. Discussed about many issues.
This is some of our thoughts :
Food was good.
Girls are cool.
We have enough money.
Hulk sucks.
It's hard to find a flat in Paris.
Summer is hot.
Or maybe we didn't discuss about that. Actually who cares?
Went back and slept.
Saturday. Played soccer and video games with collegues from office. Barbecue in the evening. Good day.
Sunday. Not really a good day. Fortunately, i saw friends. End.

Wednesday, July 09, 2003

Hi.
I was reminded this morning that it's been some days since my last post.
To be honest, we don't post as frequently as before, but I think it's no big deal. It's better to post when you want and not to feel ashamed to be silent for a while, if you've got nothing to say, don't say it. Or do say it, It's quite the same I guess. The point is I had a nice weekend, interesting and all, so I wanted to post on Monday, but I got stuff to do, don't remember what right now, and so I didn't post anything. But my weekend is still in memory. Well, almost.
Yeah, first of all we didn't go out on Friday night, don't even remember if we went to a restaurant or something, I'll keep that question in mind for later remembering, so I was up and running quite early on Saturday morning. Went to visit an apartment, south of Paris, yeah I'm currently looking for a rent, around 30m2, less than 600euros a month, south part of Paris. So I went to see an apartment, got there early, had a walk around, the neighborhood is ok but no more, the apartment itself was ok, but not exactly where I want, I'll take only exactly what I want, so long for this one. Went for some roller around Paris during the afternoon, and then a restaurant/pub with some friends. Some I didn't see for a week, some for a month, some for nearly a year. Was fine, a bit quick, I left early as I wanted to get up early next morning. Next morning I met another friend, the one I can see only from time to time, chat, what's new, so on.
Had a little pause: the question is: What is greater than god, that dead eat, and that, if living eat it, they die?
Ok, back on the tracks. Sunday afternoon was roller again, with friends from work, just an hour and a half run, was cool. Then back home, saw 'Joint Security Area', two friends advised me to see it, they were right. Find it, watch it. Well, that was quite a sum up, I should have been trough it on Monday, memories must be served fresh I'd say, but well, take it as it comes.
What else? Yeah, check that out, it's French, get a babelfish.
Last thing: Harry Potter is on the shelves, I think I've never seen a book as popular as those ones. Well, reading is really good, so go ahead.
Ok, that's it for now, I'd like to draw you a picture about the European consideration about Palladium and the global-trust-bullshit-consortium, I'll do that later, still have a bunch to read.
See ya.

Friday, July 04, 2003

Hi everybody, just a small post as I'm waiting 9am to phone some estate agencies to find an apartment. Yeah, that's the boring part of life. However, I'me working quite a lot those days, I think I've said that already, but it's more interesting each day, guess it's worth the time. Well, back to my phone, have a nice day.

Monday, June 30, 2003

Hell.
For the first time since ten years, I didn't save my post in a temp file when writing it, for that was a small post and I though my pc wouldn't crash just now. It did. Thanks Murphy.
Well, I was saying, apart from asking Frenchy why he said english is a stupid language, that I spend my weekend ay my uncle's wedding, that I needed five whole minutes to find this word (save file), I got a lot of job nowaday, no time to think about anything out of work right now, you can get that as an excuse for me not posting. Today I learnt stuff about HepB virus mutations, advanced medical research that is, cool. My job rocks. Ok, that was for the what's new part. Now lets go through the thinking part. I was halfway when the crash, so I'll try to get things from the begining as much as I can. Yeah, I was saying that I got the impression that I'm not seeing my friends as soon as I did some time ago, lets say some months to get things numbered. Can I say that? whatever, that's wrong, because I saw most of them three days ago, just before the wedding, but that's my feeling, feelings are not based on facts, that's why we have a brain AND a heart, you must use both to get along. Right now, my heart is getting blue, which means no good, my brain is thinking 'what the hell?' and my fingers are following and typing. Ok, I got no answer tonight, some will read that and think... I don't know what you'll think, that reminds me something I said in my previous post, I almost forgot here, we didn't talk too much last week, noise and so on, party was not meant to talk, maybe that is what downs me. I'm just observing that I don't know what you think. I can't figure. Well, most of the time I can, obviously we're in the same world and the same reality applies, to everybody, so all I have to do is think 'if I were him, what would I think about that' and, most of the time, it works. Sometimes it doesn't. Last weeks I failed, each and every time. Maybe I need holidays. Maybe I need to sleep. Well, that is something like a 'welcome in my mind' post, but you were warned, it's in the bloody title.

This had been an okay week. No more no less. It's quite hard to say something about that.
Anyway. This weekend, i put my sister's goods into boxes. Actually, i live in her appartement but she decided to stay in the South with her boy-friend. It's quite a task to prepare a removal. And quite uninteresting for someone who doesn't know me.
I have seen for the third time "Matrix Reloaded". With Mum. She said she liked the movie cos it was funny. First time i hear that.
I have also seen a horror movie : "Haute Tension". A great movie. Maybe the best horror flick i have seen for a long time. Cecile de France is exceptionnal. Hope she will continue to do such movies.
Yesterday, i have seen "Creature", a boring alien ripoff. I decided to post reviews on the internet movie database. Writing more and more in this stupid language might help me to be better understood because i suppose i make terrible mistakes.
See you.

Tuesday, June 24, 2003

Good Weekend At Beauvais. With the same concerns. The concerns that concern rich people. In french, we called it la vie de chateau. Lot of good food and lot of alcohol : wine, vodka, champagne, armagnac. Didn't help me to sleep well. Did many and fun nightmares. Didn't care cos i was living a dream.
But all dreams have an ending and today i'm working. But i don't have to be disappointed. I should try to fight now.
Yesterday i was wondering if the question of self confidence is only a question of choice. That's a strange question. So i chose to have a shower. See you.

Monday, June 23, 2003

Whaou.
As a kid of the new techs, I'm not someone to be impressed by some technoshitlookatmyplasmaeffectitsgreat, but here... Animusic (2001). Don't know why I didn't go trough this piece before, but it's... well, it's art. Ok, for the one who don't get a word out of my astonishment, here is what it is: Animusic is a set of four (five?) pieces of music, artificial, with artificial instruments, it's called music-driven computer animation. So, you got artificial instrument, 3D animation, playing computer music. The music is somehow common, I mean it's good, but it's not mozart either. What's cool is the design of the instrument, automated guitars, ghost powered drums, and the synchro between those instruments and the music, it's really like looking at a real orchestra, where you can distinguish each player among it's fellows, but without any player, just instruments. Ok, you gotta see it, I can't tell you much more than that.

Hey, just had an e-mail from a friend I hadn't heard of for two weeks. Yeah, that's some time huh. Okay, that's not real content for a post, but I read the mail and I told myself 'cool, I was waiting for that', I should post to tell the world about it. So I did. And there was no content. But maybe while you are reading this a meteor crashed outside just around the corner, you avoided it by being just here in front of your screen, thus I saved your life. Think about it.

Sunday, June 22, 2003

Good week-end. I was at a friend's, in the country, one hour north from Paris, near a town called Beauvais, you might have heard of it, it is the third airport for Paris, the one with the cheap flights. Anyway, the weather was nice, the swimming pool a bit cold for my Mediterranean toes, but who cares, the food was great. That's one cool thing about France, even if strikes can freeze the whole country for two weeks, we still have foie gras. Do you now what are Tournedos Rossini? Check it out, order what you need in the nearest French Food WebSite, and go taste heaven.
By the way, I've noticed I haven't completed my post about Le Bourget, sorry. It's just too late now, all I can say is: we saw planes, we ate canapés in the Rolls-Royce house, an Airbus A320 can (nearly) perform a looping, that was fun. So, after 48 hours thinking about nothing but what would be the next bottle of wine, or whether the sauna was hot enough or not, or were is the sun lotion, I'm exhausted. And I gonna sleep. Well.
nb: this post was Google powered, one result was strange. Guess.

Rant.
I'd like to go on rampage right now, but I'm grown and educated, so I'll grab a book and read, trying to forget.
It's a good book by the way, Neal Asher, The skinner.

Tuesday, June 17, 2003

Yeah. True, we went to the Bourget. Saturday. Quite fun actually. Saw plenty of planes flying and doing funny things and heard terrible but harmonious sound. Most exciting was to admire these flying object in the rolls royce stand where "so british"waiters offer you drinks and food. Thanks to the guy with the card marked "journalist" who led us to this meeting.
Went to a party of a friend. Met her past and present boyfriends. Met other people. Drank a lot of muscat and a bit of martini and champagne.
Sunday. Saw my aunt in the suburb. Took photos of her wonderful house. Ate biologic food. Strange name "biologic name". Walk near the Marne. A good day.
Went back and saw a very good korean movie : joint security area.
Good weekend.
Still feel the same waiting for new events.

Monday, June 16, 2003

Back from silence. I had a few stuff to take care of last week, plus I didn't have time for my daily scan of the news, I hope you didn't miss me too much. Ok, let's start with a glimpse at the future of the net: .la stands for LosAngeles. One day, this blog will be hosted at www.wwimm, ain't it cool? Ok, that was a 'not related at all' link, funny, but not really useful as the content of the linked site isn't related with what I'm saying at all. Frenchy does that sort of stuff sometimes, the dustmen link made me think twice, as the other links in the sentence where 'real'. Whatever. Just one word to explain what I meant with my deck of cards last week. It's a trick I learned from a friend of mine, she loves to tell you what your future will be like using card trick, you ask a question, then the cards have the answer. Well, sort of, but I won't discuss about the questioning bias here. So, I'm quite reluctant to ask a specific question for it directs the answer you will have, you will never have answer to a question you don't ask, and I you ask when you'll be rich, well, you will necessary be rich don't you? So my technique is a bit different, I pick two cards, ace of spade and ace of heart, I put a certain concept in each, two different attitudes toward the problem I have, to different decisions, then I play with those two cards, not looking at which is which, finally I choose one, and decide of my behavior. Usually, ace of heart is a cool guy, more the 'why not' type, kind, helpful, poet, talkative, generous. The ace of spade is the mirror image. Well not really, but spade don't give anything for nothing, don't talk if not talked to, don't smile if not smiled to, don't write poems for strangers, loves acid jokes and novels of dark futures. Right now, I'm not heart. But my dark spade time is behind me.
I didn't talk about the bourget It was cool, I'll discuss that later.

What's happening? Nothing. I don't feel bad. I don't feel good. I feel...as usual i would say. That is encouraging regarding to last weeks.
Saw a french movie yesterday. Le mystere de la chambre jaune. Quite a good movie. Funny and entertaining. Great actors. And then What? Nothing. Is it sad? No.

Hell. We've switched. I'm fading from ace of heart to ace of spade. Don't ask, I'll tell when I'm back to heart. Cards don't lie. Card's don't care.

RATP on strike, SNCF on strike, teachers on strike, dustmen on strike. This tuesday morning in Paris is quite exciting.
Looking at the sad faces of people, waiting for a train that might not come, walking in the dirty streets near the champs elysee give me the vision of the decline of a big city, of an entire civilisation where nothing is working correctly and where all the people are resigned.
It's like living in a city close to implosion, apocalypse. That's very exciting.
I'm feeling well. I like seeing misfortune around me. That's makes me feel better. This is one of my worse flaw. This is my worse flaw. But this little voice tells me "who cares?".

Yesterday, when sunbathing at 'champs de mars', I had a discussion with a girl about sun and rain, my point was: 'There is no such distinction as sun=good, rain=bad, a good big heavy storm washes out the sky and then the air is fresh and all, that's summer storms, and that's good, except if your are on a boat and you can't sea the shore anymore, your radio is fubar and a giant shark is trying to mess with your girlfriend, but that doesn't happen so often in real life. Of course, winter rain, this little nasty creature which can crawl under any protection you have and climb behind your back, getting trough your skin to freeze your bones, this rain ain't no good. If you've followed trough this, I can get to my point: the rain we have just now is a good one. The skies are darker than in the middle of the night, because the moon can't be seen, it's a bit like the earth surface as shown in matrix, man have spread dark smoke to blind the machines from the energy of the sun, and we are all fucked. But, and this is a big but, we have thunder. A flash, three seconds, the drums. Nothing, nothing on earth or in the universe, is that powerful. See the light, wait for the rhythm of the skies to fall upon you and shake your bones. This has the same effect as a good guitar solo, a very good one.
Well, I'm in a state of mind far better than this morning when I woke up, France is in the grip of strikes, again, I'm feeling less and less attached to this country. Whatever, I'm not bound to speak their language anymore. Just kidding, you know I can't write poems in English yet, and I can't live without writing poems. Well, I can, but it's cool to write, so I'll continue. Ok, I'd love to continue chatting, but I have no idea of an interesting subject to switch on, so let's finish for now.

I'm confused. I shouldn't. My look is direct, my speech is clear, my thoughts are not. They shouldn't. I should talk about this afternoon, sun under the 'tour Eiffel', wrote a poem for a girl, she loved it. What more can I ask from life? I don't know, but I'll have to figure it out. Right now I'm... confused. Whatever, I'll sort it out myself. Rob D, Clubbed to death. Go and listen to it, 'cause that's what I'm listening to just now, I'm gonna switch on the matrix2 soundtrack, that will change my mind. Not for the better I fear. I'm stuck in front of the screen, reloaded in my ears, my thoughts are running around in a large circle, getting smaller and smaller, narrowing to a little node of dark smoke, madly shimmering and glittering the doubts and regrets. Hell. Why?
Something is bothering me, in a way, (no link with the previous part, I've switched brains): Some days ago, I was writing knowing that nobody but frenchy could read what I was writing, that was a 'silent start'. Now this blog has gone public, everybody, that's to say anybody, can read it. I know frenchy and he knows me, I know he will think twice or more when reading me, he won't take anything granted, and will ask me if any doubt. But for every one else, what does the previous part (confused stuff, just up here) does mean to you? You can't know anything about it, three people have a clue, one each, maybe two of you can build something out of it, and I'll deny. Because the truth is something else, the truth lies elsewhere. Deep in my mind. Nobody can reach it but her. And I don't know her yet.
[...Listening to the music...]
Never underestimate the power of music. My thoughts are getting clearer. I hope you'll make the most of it.

Chica, I really was pleased to write that for you, a smile is the best gift an author can have, ever.

Hey. That's a mid-weekend post, I've been quite busy last week, and quite tired this weekend, so didn't post much. Back on the tracks: Friday night was the 'this is my first job guys, let's party' party of a good friend, restaurant, night club, as we discussed afterward, with a one-week salary, he could offer a good party to his friends, after several month looking for a job, what is one week? Certainly worth a good celebration. By the way, met again a good friend from school at the club, hadn't seen her for two years. Hell, I don't know nobody who dances alike. Really, dancing can be superficial and all, but she can dance all night, you'll die to try and follow... believe me I'm not someone to stop before being definitely exhausted, and she impress me each and every time. Ok, I'll stop here so nobody get jealous ; girl, you got my respect, from dancer to dancer. After that, got to bed when the sun was getting up, good night, short, woke up when everybody else did, gave some advice about drinking water before going to sleep, good against headache, you should know that. Then a little walk in paris, down the 'champs elysees' to 'invalides', then straight to the senate, 'jardins du Luxembourg', sunbathed, phoned friends, sent toughts accross the world, slept under the trees, got home at five. pm. Another friend was coming, go for a drink, back to bed early. Then it was today, planned to go for some roller, but the rain was here, too bad. So played GTA3 instead, then went to see the last match of 'rolland garos' championship at a friend's, she was for the spanish guy, Ferrero, so I had to be for the other one, to keep things even, her words, and I lost. haha. The day is now ending after a drink in a fancy bar near the Eiffel tower, (ok, not so near, but depends on the scale, all right?!, there's nothing world-famous near your bar man!), everybody was there, nearly, but frenchy was needed somewhere else. And now I'm going to bed, 'cause tomorrow might be a sunny day and I need my roller-time, addicted.

Ah, holidays...Short holidays actually. Four days. With my mum. Remains two.
Friday : tour in paris. With mum. Like tourists. But why shouldn't i visit my living town?
Went to the ile de la cité. Visited Sainte Chapelle then Conciergerie. Quite interesting.
Went to cinema. Saw mais qui a tué Pamela Rose, french movie that parodies american movies with
great accuracy. It's also rather funny. Saw a classic concert at Sainte chapelle. Good. I think i definitly love Vivaldi. Went to restaurant Clement. Went home on foot. Two in the morning.
Saturday : let's say that guide du routard sucks. They suggest a walk that they say it's unusual. Okay it was. Horrible streets and prostitutes everywhere. Fist time i saw prostitutes in the afternoon. Sunny and hot. Horrible. I can't stand heat. Went to library François Mitterand. Full. Went to library at Baubourg. Full. Walked then Went back home. Made Shopping. Saw Tune in Tomorrow with Peter Falk. Entertaining.
And now i wrote. i might go sleeping. We will see. Good night

First thing I come across this morning, on google news: Where is She? Is that our century? Well, sometimes I feel like a stranger to my world. Jump. It's interesting how you can switch from one topic to another, totally different, one click. Have you seen Fast n Furious (Whaou, rated 6/10 on imdb! Joking?! ) ? The second one will be... the same. For the French gamers out there, English (babelfish) version. Something is striking all of a sudden: It might be annoying for you to use the 'open in a new window' right click each time you want to follow a link... Supposing you care to read all I'm writing. Well, I might tweak the css to have a external 'a' tag... I'll think about that. Ok, time to go back to work, I'll close this session with the NYTimes affair. (account needed). Greetings Good Wolf.

I’ve beaten my record: 20 minutes for 6.5 Km, downtown, from home to work - RollerBlades, forgot to tell. Usually, I was around 30 minutes. Let me see, that’s near 20 Km/h, given I was lucky with traffic lights. Cool. I’m exhausted now. But I’m happy. Well, now that I’m nearly half an hour early, I’ll go and get a glimpse at the world wide news.
